15+ years of IT, across the whole stack

Handing over your email, your files and your admin credentials is a decision worth making carefully. Here's what sits behind IT Cloud Shift Solutions.

Sydney-based · Working with businesses right across Australia

The background

IT Cloud Shift Solutions brings more than fifteen years of hands-on IT experience to the systems small and mid-sized businesses actually run on.

That experience spans server support and migrations, Microsoft Exchange, cloud infrastructure, web hosting, web development and ongoing managed services — and it has grown with the tools, moving into Microsoft 365 and Azure as those became where businesses live. Not one narrow lane, but the whole stack, in environments where whoever plans the migration is also the one who picks up the phone when something behaves oddly a week later.

Fifteen years in IT also means having seen how things fail. Migrations that ran long because nobody checked the archive sizes. Cloud bills that tripled because a test environment was never switched off. Backups that existed but had never been restored from. Most of the work that prevents those is unglamorous — it just costs far less than fixing them afterwards.

Why the breadth matters

Most IT problems do not respect the boundaries between specialties. A Microsoft 365 migration is not really an email project — it touches identity, DNS, licensing, mobile devices, the copier that scans to email, and the line-of-business application nobody remembered was sending mail through the old server.

Working across servers, cloud, Microsoft 365 and the web side means those connections are visible from the start rather than discovered at cutover. It also means straight answers about what you do not need. Plenty of what gets sold as essential is not, and knowing the difference comes from having built it, run it, and occasionally had to fix it at an inconvenient hour.

How it works in practice

You deal directly with whoever is doing the work. No account manager relaying messages, no ticket queue where context gets lost between people, no discovering that the person who set your environment up has since left.

Work is scoped and quoted before it starts, so the number is known in advance. Where something is genuinely open-ended, we say so rather than quote a figure everyone knows will move.

And where the honest answer is that the work isn't needed — a workload better left where it is, an existing setup that's already fine — that's the answer you'll get. A smaller invoice now tends to make for a considerably better working relationship later.
